Suzanne Wilson – Age 34

After booking my wedding reception for May 2005 I decided it was about time that I got fit and lost weight.

A friend suggested I visit Graham Jones Personal Training so I went along to see Graham in September 2004 and at just over 12 stone ( height 5 ft 4” ). Graham was very friendly and soon put me at ease, then weighed me and explained what we would be doing in my hour workout sessions.

I started doing workouts with Graham about two to three times a week. I always looked forward to going to the gym, unlike when I was a member go other gyms which I found boring and time consuming. The workouts varied all the time and they did not become repetitive. They were a mixture of cardio, weights, floor exercises, boxing and fit ball exercises. Graham gave me exercises that I could do at home and also gave me the confidence to start jogging outside!!! He also gave me a diet plan to follow so I could lose weight.

When I got married on the 14th May 2005 I weighed 9 stone 3 lbs and felt great. Not only had I lost weight I was toned and did not have as much loose skin. I am so much fitter as before I would get out of breath going upstairs and generally walking around.

Before deciding to call Graham Jones Personal Training I was unfit, unhealthy and had an inactive lifestyle.  My job as a manager involved me sitting in my car driving to work and then sitting most of the day as well, even from the very beginning of the day I was struggling to get out of bed!

When I booked my first session in April 06 I weighed 17stone 2 pounds,had a waist of 42 inches and a shirt collar size of 18 inches.  Now nearly a year on I feel like a new man, I weigh 13 stone 13pounds and have a waist of 36 inches and a collar size of 16.5 inches.

I still am going to Graham Jones Personal Training and am still seeing great benefits. I feel fit and healthy, brighter mentally as well as physically and have lots more energy. I feel like I have a new lease of life and am enjoying exercising and feeling great.

At the start it was difficult to discipline myself and be motivated but with all the support from Graham Jones Personal Training I have changed my lifestyle to one that suits me and am happy to stick to it.

I contacted Graham Jones Personal Training after failing to pass the police fitness assessment.  Prior to the unsuccessful attempt I had been training alone at a gym and found it difficult to acquire the necessary upper body strength and cardiovascular level to pass the test.

After one session I left with an awareness of where I had been going wrong with my training and exactly what muscle groups I needed to work on to improve my strength.  Together we made clear objectives for the following twelve sessions and discussed how I could aid my training at home, I was also given helpful dietary advice which improved my performance.

The privacy of the gym also helped me to improve my performance, as I did not feel intimidated or insecure (as is sometimes the case being a female in the free weight area of some gyms).  It also helps to have the encouragement of the friendly staff that pushed me much further than I could have pushed myself.

After completing my twelve hours of training I was able to push and pull an extra 40kg than previous to my first session, and my cardio improved dramatically. Consequently, I successfully passed my fitness assessment, whilst incidentally loosing a few unwanted pounds!
